5 OF POWERFUL DUAS IN THE HOLY QUR’AN

Posted on

Duas” are supplications or prayers commonly recited by Muslims to seek guidance, blessings, forgiveness, and various other things from Allah (God).

Here is a list of some well-known duas:

Dua for Guidance (Istikhara):

“اللهم إني استخيرك بعلمك واستقدرك بقدرتك واسالك من فضلك العظيم”
Translation: “O Allah, I seek Your guidance by virtue of Your knowledge, and I seek ability by virtue of Your power, and I ask You of Your great bounty.”

Dua for Forgiveness (Astaghfirullah):

“أستغفر الله”
Translation: “I seek forgiveness from Allah.”

Dua for Patience (Sabr):

“اللهم اجعل صبري في مصيبتي واخلف خيرا منها”
Translation: “O Allah, make my patience in the face of this calamity and grant me something better in exchange.”

Dua for Protection (Ayat al-Kursi):

“الله لا إله إلا هو الحي القيوم لا تأخذه سنة ولا نوم له ما في السماوات وما في الأرض من ذا الذي يشفع عنده إلا بإذنه يعلم ما بين أيديهم وما خلفهم ولا يحيطون بشئ من علمه إلا بما شاء وسع كرسيه السماوات والأرض ولا يؤوده حفظهما وهو العلي العظيم”
Translation: “Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep.

To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission?

He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.”

Dua for Blessings (Barakah):

“بارك الله لكم وبارك عليكم”
Translation: “May Allah bless you and bestow His blessings upon you.”

Dua for Good Health (Shifa):

“لا بأس طهور إن شاء الله”
Translation: “There is no harm, [and I seek] healing with Allah’s permission.”

These are just a few examples of the many duas that Muslims recite in various situations.

It’s important to note that these translations are approximate, and the original Arabic words carry deep spiritual significance. If you’re interested in more specific duas for different situations, there are numerous books and online resources available that provide comprehensive collections of supplications.
